When do Panopto videos get archived?
After 13 months of inactivity, your Panopto videos take a well-deserved nap in the archive.
What happens after 13 months?
Once your video hits the 13-month mark without any views, it moves out of the active library. Don’t worry—it’s still safe and can be brought back if needed.
Is my content ever deleted?
Nope! All Panopto content is retained indefinitely. If that ever changes, we’ll announce it well in advance and make sure instructors can download their course materials before any changes take effect.
How long does it take to unarchive a video?
Restoring a video can take up to 3 days. If you know you’ll need an archived video soon, go ahead and request it early to avoid any delays.
