How to Use ECE Linux Clusters Remotely
New members of the ECE community will use this guide to remotely login to Linux computing clusters hosted by ECE IT Services using an Andrew ID.
Step-by-step guide
- Verify your account username and password (Andrew ID)
- Prepare your computer (Windows ONLY)
- Connect to the CMU network. Options include
- Identify the target server (sometimes called hostname) on which to login. Students must ask their instructor or teaching assistant for the correct hostname.

- Open the SSH program for your computer described in step 2 and connect.
