Some PDF Forms Prompt to Upgrade Adobe Acrobat When Viewed in a Web Browser

ECE ITS recommends saving all university created forms to a file folder (either locally or in other locations such as Box or Google Drive) and then opening them directly in Adobe Acrobat or other non-browser based PDF viewer.

A message asking you to upgrade Adobe Acrobat may appear if you open a PDF in a web browser

In Windows, right-click the link to the document and select Save As (or equivalent depending on browser selection) and then save the PDF document to your preferred location.

In MacOS, ctrl-click the link to the document and select Save As (or equivalent depending on browser selection) and then save the PDF document to your preferred location.

Some CMU created forms include deprecated Adobe technologies (such as Flash) that will result in a prompt to upgrade Adobe Acrobat when viewed in many common web browsers.
