New members of the ECE community will use this guide to remotely login to Linux computing clusters hosted by ECE IT Services.
Step-by-step guide
- Verify your account username and password
- Prepare your computer (Windows ONLY)
- Connect to the CMU network. Options include
- Identify the target server (sometimes called hostname) on which to login. Students must ask their instructor or teaching assistant for the correct hostname.

- Open the SSH program for your computer described in step 2 and connect.
- Optional: Set the $HOME directory to ECE AFS space
