National Instruments (NI) Network Concurrent Licensing

As of January 1, 2023 - ECE-ITS does not offer Labview support for non-ECE owned systems.  


ECE DNS Search Domain Required

Due to a limitation of the Labview license client, ECE.CMU.EDU must be added to the computer's DNS search suffix domain list.  Example procedure for Windows. 

CMU Network Access Required



NI Labview licenses are centrally hosted by ECE ITS for the exclusive use of the participating pool of subscribers. Costs are shared among the subscribers based on host seat reservations.

Renewed annually in August.
